Askonas Holt is delighted to welcome Finnish-American tenor Miles Mykkanen to the roster for
management in Europe.


This season sees Miles make a series of role debuts, including singing Fenton in Falstaff at Staatsoper Hamburg, the title role in Albert Herring at the Chicago Opera Theater, and Steuermann in Der Fliegende Hollander in a return to the Canadian Opera Company. He also returns to the Metropolitan Opera to cover Tamino in the company’s new production of Die Zauberflöte, and sings the title role in Candide with Opéra de Lausanne.


Recent highlights include appearances at the Metropolitan Opera in Boris GodunovDie Meistersinger von NürnbergAriadne auf Naxos and Wozzeck, as well as debuts at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in L’Incoronazione di Poppea and at Austin Opera in Fidelio. Candide, a signature role for Miles, has brought him to venues including Arizona Opera, Palm Beach Opera and the Ravinia and Tanglewood Festivals.


On the concert platform, Miles has appeared with the New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony and Detroit Symphony orchestras. This season, he gives performances of Handel’s Messiah at University Musical Society, Ann Arbor and with the Atlanta and New Jersey Symphony orchestras.


A graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy and The Juilliard School, Miles was a winner in the 2019 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. He will be managed at Askonas Holt by Keiron Cooke and Will Pate, working in collaboration with Bill Palant, Miles’ General Manager at Étude Arts.
